With more than twenty years of experience working with children, families, and individuals navigating complex life challenges, she brings compassion, organization, and leadership to the firm’s mission of helping clients pursue Social Security Disability benefits.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Monique relocated to the Metro Atlanta area in November 2020 to join the Burgess & Christensen team. Her professional background is rooted in advocacy and human services, with a strong focus on helping people access resources and support during difficult times. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life Education and a Master’s Degree in Human Services, and her career has been dedicated to serving individuals and families in need.

Monique began her career in early childhood education as a teacher before being promoted to Childcare Center Director. For more than a decade, she worked to protect vulnerable children, support families, and educate parents while coordinating services across agencies.

At Burgess & Christensen Disability Attorneys, Monique helps ensure the firm operates efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on client care and support for individuals applying for Social Security Disability benefits. Her background in human services allows her to approach each situation with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to helping clients feel supported throughout the disability claims process.

Outside of the office, Monique is active in her local church community, where she serves in youth and dance ministries. She teaches praise dance to girls ages 4–11, participates in the church dance ministry, and teaches children’s church services.

Monique is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, with a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles that support physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. She is the proud mother of three adult children and grandmother to four grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, DIY projects, going to the movies, discovering new restaurants, and caring for her beloved dog, Mickey.
